Kanemi Yusho and Transgenerational Epigenetic Inheritance
نویسندگان
چکیده
“Kanemi Yusho” was caused by the contamination of heated Polychlororinated Bisphenyls (PCBs) for deodorization in manufacturing process rice bran oil at Kanemi Warehouse Co. Ltd., (Kokura-ward, Kitakyushu, Fukuoka, Japan) 1968.People who ingested contaminated developed skin conditions, such as chloracne, which is characterized black and white pustules, well liver kidney diseases. A total 15,000 peoples were affected. The sale immediately banned, it concluded that causative agent Polychlorinated Dibenzofurans (PCDFs) derived from PCBs [1]. There toxicity are expressed after activation Aryl Hydrocarbon Receptor (AhR) [2].

Transgenerational Epigenetic Inheritance
Recent fi ndings in the emerging fi eld of transgenerational epigenetic inheritance suggest that the lifestyle choices and experiences of an individual have biological implications for offspring not yet conceived. Studies show that diet, drugs, and even social experiences can lead to life-long changes in gene expression. Some changes in gene expression are passed down to future generations. The...

with abiotic and biotic components of their surroundings. Whereas many and perhaps most of the encounters pass with transient changes at the molecular and metabolic levels, some have a profound impact on the phenotypic appearance of an organism and, more importantly, on the phenotypic appearance of their progeny. Since genetic changes are rare and random in nature, their influence on species or...
متن کاملEnvironmental stress and epigenetic transgenerational inheritance
Previous studies have shown a wide variety of environmental toxicants and abnormal nutrition can promote the epigenetic transgenerational inheritance of disease. More recently a number of studies have indicated environmental stress can also promote epigenetic alterations that are transmitted to subsequent generations to induce pathologies. A recent study by Yao and colleagues demonstrated gesta...
متن کاملTransgenerational Epigenetic Inheritance: Myths and Mechanisms
Since the human genome was sequenced, the term "epigenetics" is increasingly being associated with the hope that we are more than just the sum of our genes. Might what we eat, the air we breathe, or even the emotions we feel influence not only our genes but those of descendants? The environment can certainly influence gene expression and can lead to disease, but transgenerational consequences a...
